Seven Months...

I can't believe our sweet baby girl was born seven months ago today. She is growing so fast! It seems like she changes a little everyday. She doesn't have any teeth yet, but I don't think it will be too long. She isn't crawling yet either. I don't know that she ever will. She just likes to sit up or stand up with someone holding her. She doesn't like to lay on the floor anymore. She wants to just sit up like a big girl to play with her toys. In the last week, she has started to say "da da da". Skip thinks the she is saying daddy, but I keep telling him that she doesn't know what she is saying. Anyway, I know that she will say momma first. HA! ;)

Update on the ENT visit: Dr. Carron did not check Meredith's hearing. He doesn't seem to think that the extra fold on Meredith's ear will cause hearing problems. He was concerned that it may not allow the ear to drain properly. He check both of Meredith's ears. She had infections in both ears. I was shocked to hear this because she had never had ear infections before and she wasn't showing any signs of ear infections. Dr. Carron did say if she gets 3 more infections in that ear with the extra fold, then he will consider fixing it because that would probably indicate that it isn't draining properly. He gave us drops to put in her ears for 5 days. She didn't like the drops at all, but who would!

Tomorrow we are all going to the beach for a few days. This is a much needed vacation for me and Skip. I can't wait to see how Meredith likes the ocean and the sand.

Here are a few pictures of us celebrating Meredith's Mimi's 80th birthday. I wish I had taken more. I have gotten bad about not taking pictures.

Meredith had her 6 month check up yesterday. She is 17lbs 9 oz and 27 1/4 long. Her weight is average, but her length is above average. I think we are going to have a tall one!!! Dr. Fairchild wants to have Meredith's hearing checked again because she has an extra fold of skin on her ear that may be getting in the way of her hearing. Dr. Fairchild thinks it is probably okay, but just wants to double check. She also saw a small amount of fluid behind Meredith's left ear. She doesn't want to give her meds yet because she thinks it is left over from a cold. It will probably clear up. Dr. Fairchild has referred us to an ENT in Jackson to have Meredith's hearing checked and to check the fluid again. Our appointment is Monday morning. It is nothing to worry about yet.

This is Skip's father's day present that Meredith thinks is hers. It is a pink duck call with Meredith's name and birth date engraved on it. I guess this means that she is going to duck hunt with her daddy when she gets older. ;)

The is a picture that was taken at the Miss Mississippi Pageant parade. This is the only picture we took. At least it is a cute one.
Meredith loves to try to catch the water. It is so cute.
Her serious look!
She doesn't understand why she can't grab the water.

Cooling off...

Meredith finally got to play in her swimming pool. She had so much fun. She could have stayed in it all day long. Skip wanted to get in the pool with her. He got so excited, he just got in with all of his clothes on. hehehe! Here are a few pictures.

She kept splashing herself in the face and she thought it was hilarious.

Meredith's new friend, the decoy. Daddy hopes Mere will be his little hunter.

She wants to pick up all three toys...
Hogan (the dog) isn't sure what is going on....

So much fun!!!

Skip's 32nd Birthday...

Skip had a wonderful birthday on Sunday. We all gathered at Skip's parents' house to celebrate. We had some great food and he got some great gifts. Here a few pictures from the celebration.
Look at all the fire from 33 candles!!! (32 years old and 1 to grow on). I can't believe we didn't burn the house down with all of those candles. Ha!!...

Skip put them all out in one blow...

Look how smoky the room is from all of those candles!!!

28 weeks...

Meredith is doing great. She is starting to eat more and more different foods. It is a lot of fun! She hasn't cut any teeth yet, but I don't think the drooling will every stop. And she may never crawl! She doesn't want to be on her belly at all. She just wants to sit up all the time, now that she can. She truly is a wonderful child. She sleeps through the night and she doesn't fuss much at all. We are very blessed. Here are a few pictures...

This is the look we get when Meredith eats the green stuff...

Meredith's cute July 4th outfit that Mrs. Ellen gave to her... (too bad I forgot the camera for the firework show. Meredith loved watching them. She couldn't figure out what they were, but she watched every minute.)
